Sabarmati Ashram Gaushala, founded in 1915 by Mahatma Gandhi, is one of India’s premium centre engaged in the use of advanced genetic improvement and reproductive technology to improve animal and agricultural productivity. Considering the importance of animal husbandry in providing a livelihood to the poor, the management of the Trust was handed over to the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in 1973. The organization is currently managed by NDDB Dairy Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of NDDB.

Semen Production

Frozen Semen Production is a fast-growing arena and we are proud to say that Sabarmati Ashram Gaushala plays a huge role in contributing to the growth of this industry in India. We aim to create a genetically superior generation of productive calves and will put our maximum efforts toward this purpose.

Embryo Production

We adopt the latest technologies in Embryo transfer to assure an increase the reproduction rate of superior female dairy animals and to produce high milch yielders. Our experts are well-equipped in state-of- art procedures and update themselves regularly to be in the fore-front of new discoveries in the field.

Fodder Production

We believe in cultivating quality fodder production and adding value to our services to the Dairy Industry. Organically produced fodder is an important key to producing healthy animals. We maintain environmental friendly practices in all aspects of fodder production.

Animal Sales

With SAG Live, farmers will be able to get superior quality true to the breed female animals. Farmers can choose animal as per their requirement in terms of milk production and management practices. These certified disease-free females which can further be improved by use of “SAG” Branded Frozen Semen Doses.

Bull Evaluation Program

We have an extensive bull evaluation program that focuses on providing a reliable source of performance-evaluated, tested and proven bulls.

Training

We provide Basic AI (Artificial Insemination) training with the hope that we can bring forth a generation of trained professionals who would be assets to the Animal Husbandry sector as well as the Dairy Industry. These trainings are conducted under reputed training centres of NDDB.

Other Activities

We engage in other activities which are beneficial to our customers while being eco-friendly. These activities include Sales of AI Consumables, Ethnoveterinary medicine Practices, Vermicompost & Biogas production.
